Hi, does anybody have recommendations of a really good vet that's not too terribly expensive? We just moved here last year and don't have one yet but we're afraid our kitty might be sick. Thanks in advance!

WTB car accessories for pets in Seattle [Aug. 12th, 2009|02:48 pm]

I have a dog and a brand-new car. This weekend, I'm taking the dog and the car camping, but I want to keep the two from merging into one big hairy mess.

So, Seattle, where can I buy things like these, locally?

PetCo and PetSmart have them for online ordering, but I need them before Friday so that's not an option. Thanks!

Rat (small animal) cage for sale $275 [Apr. 29th, 2009|07:51 pm]

A few years ago my sweetie and I built a modified Ikea shelving unit into a very nice rat cage. After providing a home to six different rats over the course of 4 years, I'm now wanting to sell it. My lifestyle just isn't good for rat care anymore so now that my last lovely girl has died, it's time to find someone else who wants it.

The cage is a 7 1/2 foot tall shelving unit from Ikea. It is divided into two sections with the top being three levels of interconnected rat cage with three lift-open doors as well as the bottom three shelves behind nice wooden doors.

I made a simple web page with pictures and dimensions.

If you are interested please email me at "pocketlama@gmail.com" and you can come see it!

Cat Loving Volunteers Needed for Purrfect Pals! (Adoption Center - Southcenter PetsMart) [Apr. 25th, 2009|10:05 pm]

Love cats and have two hours a week to spare? The Purrfect Pals Adoption Center in the Southcenter PetsMart is currently in need of cat loving volunteers to work with our rescued cats while they are waiting to be adopted. In addition to adults and seniors, we welcome teenagers who are 16+ (or 13+ with a parent/adult) and this is a great opportunity for summer! If you have two hours a week to spare and would like to make a difference in the lives of rescued cats, we would love to hear from you!  For more information, please email me or visit us online at www.purrfectpals.org.

Our current needs are:

*Weekday Mid-Morning and Evening Cleaners/Socializers (scooping litter, cleaning up any messes our "rock stars" make in their cages overnight, filling food and water dishes, letting the cats out to stretch and play, etc)

*Weekend Adoption Counselors (answering questions about our cats, processing adoptions, etc)

*Weekend Evening Cleaners/Socializers

*Morning, Mid-Day and Evening Cat Cuddlers (flex schedule - just come in and let the cats out of their cages to play and snuggle when you have time to spare)

Purrfect Pals is a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter and sanctuary committed to rescuing and placing cats and kittens in loving, responsible homes. Purrfect Pals saves the lives of more than 2,500 homeless cats each year. In addition to adopting cats through PetsMart and our other partner stores’ adoption centers, we help place special needs cats and provide a comfortable long-term sanctuary for cats diagnosed with Feline leukemia and FIV positive cats. We also offer low cost spays/neuters for cats to low income individuals and families. PetsMart generously donates the space, food and litter in our Adoption Center.

All volunteers must attend an two hour Orientation in our Arlington shelter, held the last Saturday of every month. For more information regarding Purrfect Pals visit us online at www.purrfectpals.org.

Thanks!
Connie
